The Vesting process

What you’ll do and when:

  • Confirm you’re a beneficiary and that your ID, mobile and banking details are correct.
  • Fastest: JIS portal https://www.investecss.co.za/thusano/account/logon(use ID/employee number).
  • Or call 086 125 5525 / 086 143 3659 weekdays from 08:00-19:00, Saturdays 09:00-14:00
  • USSD *120*1138#
  • Text +27 83 680 0079
  • or visit Teba.
  • Sell all your shares (you’ll get the cash, after tax); or
  • Transfer your shares to a stockbroker (no cash now); or
  • Do both (sell some, transfer the rest).

If you don’t choose by 22 Nov 2025, the default applies: your shares are sold after vesting and the cash (after taxes) is paid to your recorded bank account.

  • Use your bank’s share-trading service or any JSE-accredited stockbroker.
  • Have your stockbroker account details ready so transfer can start smoothly.
  • The 15-year hold ends. The Trust begins the sell/transfer process in line with your choice and starts formal wind-up steps.
  • If selling, shares are sold over several days; an average price is used so everyone who sells gets the same price per share.
  • Share prices can go up or down; the Trust can’t predict future prices.
  • The Trust gets a SARS tax directive and deducts taxes before paying out or transferring.
  • If transferring, you may sell a small portion to cover taxes/fees or settle them directly (your broker/JIS will guide you).
  • Selling: cash (after tax) is paid into your bank account on record.
  • Transferring: your shares move into your broker account.
  • You’ll get confirmations via your chosen contact method.
  • You’ll receive a tax certificate for your payout/transfer.
  • The Trust continues tracing unpaid beneficiaries through March 2028.
  • Thusano Trust/JIS will never ask you to pay a fee to get your payout or transfer.
  • Only statutory taxes and standard admin fees (handled by the Trust/JIS) apply.
  • If unsure, contact the numbers above before sharing personal or banking info.
